This organic planting medium has a quality that is not inferior to the soil. Cocopeat is a growing medium made from coconut coir. Therefore, it is most easily found in tropical and archipelagic countries, such as Indonesia.

Many benefits can be obtained by using it. Good for use with the ground, or stand-alone. Cocopeat is also widely chosen as a substitute for soil.

Cocopeat is easy to absorb and store water. It also has pores, which facilitate the exchange of air, and the entry of sunlight. The content of Trichoderma moulds, a type of enzyme from fungi, can reduce disease in the soil. Thus, cocopeat can keep the soil loose and fertile.

Although it is touted as an alternative planting medium of as good quality as soil, the nutrients in the soil are not present in it. Therefore, cocopeat requires additional fertilizer as fertilizer.

No need to bother looking for coconut coir to be used as cocopeat. Many manufacturers sell cocopeat in ready-to-use form. Some even provide it in solid form (briquettes). Just add water, the cocopeat is ready to use.
